Stewart Island Kiwi Spotting is a must do attraction for all vistors and we offer you the chance on the this tour to see them in the wild going about their business without the confines of a cage or enclosed area. You will travel on board Matariki to The Neck, which is a place of great beauty with spectacular coastal scenery and home to the large Stewart Island Brown Kiwi or Tokoeka. It is also a place of significance to local Māori as a place they have occupied for over 700 years. Once at The Neck you will be guided around the area where the kiwi regularly feed. You will learn about the kiwi and the history of this great place along with the restoration work that is being undertaken.
