Important Information

Te Manu Adventures will not be operating any of its Te Manu Adventures activities in the current 2011/2012 season on Stewart Island. We are currently putting together a new tour and service offering that can not be completed for the current  season. We look forward to being of service to you from the start of the 2012/2013 tourism season. Over the next few months we will provide you with information on the tours and services that will be available in the coming season. Welcome to Stewart Island New Zealand and Te Manu Adventures an indigenous tourist operator who is able to provide you with the opportunity to see some of New Zealand's iconic birds and wildlife amongst the stunning landscapes of the island. Stewart Island is New Zealand's third largest island located at the southern most tip of the country where you can still experience the wildness of this adventurous  part of  New Zealand. This is an area rich with New Zealand's history, unique in its beauty and blessed with some amazing wildlife, including kiwis, penguins, albatross, seals to mention a few that can be viewed regularly in the wild. Te Manu Adventures is operated by Rakiura Māori who are the indigenous people of Stewart Island, known to them as Rakiura, who have be living on the island for more than 700 years.

Tour Focus

Te Manu Adventures operate a number of tours and services to let you experience the true beauty of Rakiura in the most natural of settings. The Tours are all based on providing a local experience that focuses on the following,

• Wildlife, especially seeing rare birds that are present on the island,

• Landscapes, that are spectacular, green, varied, and beautiful,

• History, covering the settlement of both Māori and European on the island,

• Quality, delivery of service through our experienced staff and facilities.

Tour Availability

The tour availability is based around the following,

• Daily tours, operating daily to a time table such as a Ferry Service to Ulva Island from Halfmoon Bay to Ulva Island return.

• On demand tours, these are pre defined tours operated by us on an as required basis.

• Charter Boat or/plus guided walking tours, that are tailored to meet all aspects of your individual requirements.

Te Manu Adventures operate with modern fit for purpose facilities that are well maintain to ensure your every comfort.

We are one of the few operators on Rakiura who have a booking office, which is in the heart of Stewart Island where you will are able to make all your bookings, get full information on our tours plus information on everything else that is happening and available to you during your stay on the island.
